OOOOH! No PC protection! I didn't realize it did that!
Nevermind what I said then.
This seems more like something that would be attached to elements that rely on their creatures...So another aide for  :life or  :gravity I think.

It shoud be  :earth instead of  :gravity, as a lighting rod is connected to the earth to make the thunders hit them. Gravity isn't what makes thungers fall, it's earth + electric charge.

Also, you can make it 1|0 cost and also protect permanents!

When I get the time to change it, the plan is to give it PC protection, give +5|+0 with Rage Potion, and drop the cost by 1. As it stands now it is somewhat underpowered.

I imagine it insta-kills Psions?
I had a very similar idea that I never got around to making a card for months ago. It included anti-PC.

this card definately fits gravities theme more than earths(so i like it how it is). i think if you add anti-PC to it then it would be way to OP. as it stands i would lower the cost by 1 for each, and then i think it would be a balanced card.

No. It will stop one attack from Psion and be destroyed.

True, however Gravity is also the element of attraction, of collecting small things into something bigger, of devouring. Everything that is pulling something towards it, it can be considered 'gravity', so it is well fitted in the  :gravity element IMO.
By the way, I also think it is a little UP. Let's compare it with ES|JS or RS|MS, since they are the only cards in the game with anti-spell mechanic. They reflect the damage back at opponent and provide DR (except RS), let alone they stay forever and cannot be destroyed/stolen. However, they don't protect creatures like Finial does. Personally, I think you should be healed by the amount of the spell damage dealt in order to do Finial a competitive card.  :)

If the idea is that Finial is a lightning rod, perhaps more appropriate would be gaining quanta from the spell cast, either matching your mark, or just always being  :gravity quanta. Then again, life gain's not a bad idea either I suppose...

I think the first version could have a 40% chance of surviving each absorption ...and the upped version a 50% chance to survive. Of course if you take into account Fog and Dusk shield that would really mean 400% and 500% ;)

What happens if there are multiple Finial?  Will they all be destroyed, or just the first one?

I like this idea. (Quanta preferred.)

I suggest having finals stack. Then only the top would be destroyed.
