I cant see any use for this outside fractalflies. It is really expensive, very situational and often it will make the situation worse for you instead of better.

Ok i agree with the malignent cells, but in case of the antimatter you risk getting that creature back and photons usually serve a purpose in a deck and those decks dont work without a fodder (ok you can f.e. cremate the creature you got from your opponent reducing his dmg, but not gaining much yourself)

Yes, photons do serve a purpose in this deck! It's called giving them to your opponent!
