ART: Chris Bogie IDEA: bogieman4 NOTES: - This card does not count itself as a creature; it will die if no other creatures are in play (0 health round up). - Shadow Beasts/Spirits count other Shadow Beasts/Spirits as one creature. (ex: P1 has two Shadow Beasts, P2 has one Photon. Both shadow beasts have 1|1 stats. If P2 plays a Shadow Beast and another Photon, all Shadow Beasts will have 2|2 at the end of P2s turn.) - Non-living creatures (skeletons) do not count towards the creature total. SERIES: None

So, it doesn't matter what side this card is on for another copy of this card to get a benefit from it? I like this card, a duo death/darkness with boneyards could get pretty powerful, though.

I really don't like this in combination with devourtal. I play a bunch of devourers to lock down quanta, then I start dropping enormous creatures.

Might be ok if you lowered the cost a bit but made it only count Shadow Beasts, similar to how scarab works.

That might under power it. Why not make it N/2 | N/2? That way it would still be powerful, but not overly powerful.

Hmm i like that idea - devourtal + Shadow Beast could get a bit out of hand...or any fractal deck

Perhaps skeletons won't count? (The idea is that they don't have souls - similar to why when a skeleton is killed it doesn't generate another skeleton)

I think it would be better worded:

N/N

One Soul: N = number of living creatures in play divided by 2.

Anyways I like the idea, and I don't think its necessary to exclude skeletons.  If I understand the mechanic correctly, the highest attack this creature could have is 23.  And that would mean a 'living' creature in every slot on both sides of the field.

Now I do think that no Shadow Beast/Spirit should count in creature count.  If one Shadow Spirit doesn't count for itself, I don't see a thematic reason as to why another Shadow Spirit would.  Then on the calculations end I think it would be simpler to just say Shadow Spirits don't count in the total instead of explaining that whole thing about how one doesn't count for itself but another will etc.
