NOTES:
Instead of dying, the target dragon will survive with 1 HP. It's as easy as it sounds.
SERIES:
I know there is another diea around to give skills to Dragons. My first idea was to give dragons the scavenger ability, but I decidedto change the plan and give dragons some survivability.

I need help with the following:
- The name, it's a bit long and....lame?
- The text, "only works once" and "1 health" should probably be changed.
- Balance, what do you think?

Cool card! I can imagine using this to protect a Leaf Dragon in  :life:light duos.

Here's my recommendations:
Name : Dragon's Instinct (Sort of like an instinctive manuever to survive).
Wording : Make this effect a status effect indicated by a counter of some sort like Momentum and Adrenaline.  The name of the status could also be "Instinct".

Yes, I want this to work as a status effect. I want it to be like momentum, so it won't remove statusses like vampirism or leaf dragon skill (is that a dragon, srsly? :D)

I need to give the name some more thoughts, I'd also like more feedback. I want to enter this into the crucible. What do people think about the quantum cost for example? It's not to low imo, you basically save a dragon but it'll still have 1hp. It's not that high either, a brand new dragon usually costs around 10 quanta, this is about half.

Thanks for the help Zblader.

I think 5|4 random for the cost is fine since the Dragon will only survive with 1hp, making it vulnerable to every CC card.

I think either zblader's Instinct is one of my two preferred choices.
the second is Persistence

I'm thinking of changing the cost to 3 for unupgraded, 2 for upgraded. (maybe 3/3)
Quintessence costs 4/3 and protects from pretty much anything. Comparing it to this: doesn't get hit by direct spells, no antimatter, no mutate, no poison (apart from carapace) etcetc.

Draconic Instinct is inferior to this in many ways, can only be cast on dragons. So the cost should reflect that.

Rather than a spell induing another status (development...) I suggest a permanent like "Dragon Heart : the next dragon dying survives with 1HP - destroy this permanent instead"

Great idea though!

As the cost is "other" I think it is fine to leave it as it is.

The major problem I see is that for Ruby dragon, you basically get your dragon back in nearly the same condition.

For Massive dragon, you get screwed. So my point here is this card will empower already strong Ruby dragons, be about balanced for the mid range dragons and screw massive dragon.

I think for this reason you should change it to a percentage of hp or something.
