the river phlegethon was the ancient greek river of fire, also known as the river of boiling blood, it is from the boiling blood where i get the double damage.

and Farenheit users, rejoice.  , , and  , be happy somewhat.  All other quanta users, we have another reason to be quite annoyed.

Good card.  Works best obviously with fire, although it could work with air, earth , and aether (sparks at least) somewhat.

you're probable not on the right page, i mean spells like firebolt deal twice as much damage to creatures for 1 turn, drain life, owl's eye, lightning, unstable gas, ice bolt, and stuff like that, i cant think of anything from earth that would go with this card, and only to CREATURES

meh, about half of the elements should rejoice, probably more, other elements will burn teh river of fire inspired fire card!

Fire Lance doing 6 damage for every 10 ? TT_TT

To be honest, I can't see how this could be any more balanced, but my instincts are screaming to make it cost 2 more. The reason, I suppose, is based on how Sky Blitz doubles the damage creatures inflict, so this should be sort of like a complementary card, despite hurting creatures, not the opponent.

i didnt think it would be balanced, actually, the ideas running around in my head were: make the ability cost fire (op for growth creature reasons) turn the creature fire, fire  creatures have no ability cost etc. this was honestly the closest thing to balanced i could think of, and from the way people are cheering it on, it is balanced enough,

On a side note, wasn't the River of Phlegethon also found in the 7th (I'm probably wrong here, gah) circle of hell in the Divine Comedy? Since you mentioned boiling blood, I assumed that it had to deal with the act of violence against others, which (unsurprisingly) Fire as an element does well.
