Words like Soul are associated with darkness/light but the concept I feel is probably aether. Perhaps change to name to be more eathery? Can't think of anything myself...

I agree that the mechanic could be Earth in nature. Imbue Essence? Enchant Essence?

Yeah, as 0 hp. It still couldn't devour a BL though. It would have the ability, but it would effectively be useless. The reason you'd do it that way is so Zanz doesn't have to code it losing an ability and then magically regaining it based on the state its in.

if you talk about zanz mechanic in flying weapon.  don't forget that he 'remove your weapon' then 'creature new creature that had target weapon code'   not 'turn that weapon into creature' like card text.     look at enchant artifact case.

that's why i'm already ask you in first post.   are this thing gain buff.   cuz if it gain anything like buff it will make zanz create a new code for this card....  and if he do that  maybe he can change code in AW too.

No worries OT, having you mention earth though did make me think about what's happening, a creature is being 'solidified/stoned/objectified' so earth could fit thinking about it that way.
So  or  would be my feeling, depending on name.
