Alternative ability is kill another creature but the amount of hp the creature that got killed by reaper's ability is how much poison counters is on the reaper.  Thats kinda lengthy.  :-\

It's a good idea, but I don't see it happening. If I'm understanding what you are saying, then the ability is correctly exemplified below:

bob has reaper on the field and jenny has a massive dragon on her field
bob uses reaper's ability and massive dragon goes *poof* and disappears
reaper now has 30 poison counters

Please note that the word "reaper" could refer to either the upgraded or unupgraded version as it makes no difference.

So if I'm correct, the quintessence of this ability is instakill?

Like I said, I don't see it happening. It's a good idea, don't get me wrong, but instakill is not the best mechanic to go after. I prefer the one I have now, it offers a thematic and interesting mechanic for the typical one-way strategies poison offers.

Clever idea, I think it might be too expensive.  You'll have to find a method of poisoning it which will cost more quanta and then there's the fact that this creature expires after a certain time.

With no buffs or CC, this card is guaranteed to do 25 damage no matter how much poison is on it (if I understand it correctly).

The alternative ability fits better thematically with the card as well as mechanically.  Why the heck would I waste so much time on poisoning the reaper when all that could be stacked on my opponents creature?  I like second suggested ability better, it's a balanced CC IMHO. Just make the reaper have 1 attack instead, 0 if necessary.
