The theme. The basic idea started as the mechanic, and I searched for something to be thematically appropriate to the idea. Hence, the Ravid. It is, as some of you might know, a creature that inhabits the Elemental Plane of Positive Energy in D&D cosmology. That's a place so full of life energy that normal beings explode upon entering it, unless they severly harm themselves to focus the energies of the plane on healing their injuries. The concept was indeed similar to what OldTrees suggested, but I figured the Ravid as a pretty harmless creature that planeshifts on its native homeland (hence the aether cost), charges with the energy of the plane and comes back seeking a way to unleash said energy. To me, it's pretty thematic, but I will accept suggestions.

This would be good if
1) Ravids did this. They don't due to low intelligence and inability to planeshift. That is not to say that nothing does through.
2) A place like the positive energy plane existed in ETG. It might or it might not.
A  robot would be more intuitive.

And it would be gravity. I might change this, but only if I cannot find a way to fit this in Light properly. The point here (in this serie) is to enhance certain synergies between elements, enabling some other options and powering up stalls. Making it a gravity cards would make it terribly overlap with flying Titans. They both can grow, but Titans would probably be the best choice here by far, with their huge hp covering up from the lack of immaterial, and acceleration more than making up for the lack of a growth mechanism. They would work almost the same, but the Titans would probably be better due to momentum, possibility to play catapult, higher attack and faster/more constant damage.

Thats because almost nothing visits there much less lives there.

However it can only planeshift 1/day and chooses to gain power through symbiosis with hosts rather than through the PEP.
Suffice to say there is no preexisting creature that uses the positive energy plane in that manner other than spellcasters.

Ok, what about a light creature that starts ascending? Aether and light have a divine theme in common. Something that grows in power by meditation, thus "phasing out" and at the same time refraining from attacking?

That would work very well provided that the meditation can cause untargetability.
