NOTES:
Instinctive means that the effect will take place when it can and if it can be paid.

In the case of Defend, it is limited to any situation in which you would take damage, physical or spell.  When it does, Defend will be automatically played from your hand and negates the damage if you have the quanta.

Defend can be cast on your turn, and would stop the next damage you would receive.

Nevermind.

So this auto-defender can be useful or not. Hmm. Not sure how much of a splash this would be, or if it's better to just pack a Heal.

The upped version can be put in a mono aether stall to stop the annoying spell or momentumed creature and secure a EM win. (Though silence would do this too)
