The chance to cause silencing scales with stack size, starting at around 25% for the first and scales to a much higher value. Note that this card affects both players, so it is a double edged effect. The card is should be fairly clearly aimed at nova and immolation, but will wreak havoc on other quanta production cards as well. Note that since silence ends with the end of its player's turn, it will have essentially no effect for creatures with the "light" ability, or the other quanta variants. Background info on theme: Aphasia on Wikipedia The idea is that the shock of generating and absorbing large amounts quanta instantaneously without the aid of pillars or pendulums causes the caster to be momentarily dumbstruck and unable to speak to cast spells. I don't know, it's an anti-SN/nova card (and some more cards)
but they allready got a huge nerf

But if you want, why not make it like pandemonium ( unupped both sides, upped opponent only)

Its meant to be aimed at immolation / cremation as well...

Right now, the double edge nature is meant as a balancing mechanism. I'm a little worried that taking it out of the upped version would make it OP. If the consensus is that this isn't a problem, I can certainly do so.

Note that the silence effect, even if it were 100% chance, would still allow nova or cremation to be used for powering creature and permanent abilities, they just cant be used to power a rapid succession of spells in a single one turn blitz (e.g. rainbow rush tactics).

What if the wording is changed to:
"Quanta created before the end of turn may silence the owner. Autocasts for free if a quanta-producing spell is used."
That would interfere with towers and upped pendulums as well... Hunting false gods would be interesting.

no it wouldnt, becuase they produce right before the end of turn, and silence ends with end of turn. what it would be is stupid and pointless.

When you play Towers or uppend Pends to get some cards out you allready get quanta

Yes. In other words, it would have no effect on unupped pillars, but the upped pendulums and towers would potentially silence the user when played.
