ART:
IDEA:
Darkrobe
NOTES:
Meant to solve some of lifes couple of issues.

Patterned after feral bond but in reverse. You protect your creatures by sacrificing your health.

The way the card works is by following this formulation: You protect your creature from up to 3 damage by sacrificing 3 health (2 health upped) per creature when they are attacked divided by the number of bonds in your control, rounded up. So for example:

6 frogs (5|3) and 1 unupped bond + firestorm. the frogs are unharmed, you take 6*3 = 18 damage.
6 frogs (5|3) and 2 unupped bond + firestorm. The frogs are unharmed, you take 6*3/2 = 9 damage.
6 frogs (5|3) and 3 unupped bond + firestorm. The frogs are unharmed, you take 6*3/3 = 6 damage.

Same for upped except
6 frogs (5|3) and 1 upped bond + firestorm. the frogs are unharmed, you take 6*2 = 12 damage.
6 frogs (5|3) and 2 upped bond + firestorm. The frogs are unharmed, you take 6*2/2 = 6 damage.
6 frogs (5|3) and 3 upped bond + firestorm. The frogs are unharmed, you take 6*2/3 = 4 damage.

Not bad, but I'm afraid 1 damage simply isn't a whole lot.

I guess it hasn't got effect at oty (oty needs 5hp to devour frog 3hp)?
If you're weak, then run, but toward your enemy

well, but it stacks. so technically you can have reduction of like 6 damage, although that means you will get hurt for those six damage.

I guess it hasn't got effect at oty (oty needs 5hp to devour frog 3hp)?
yah, i dont think it would protect against oty since thats like an instant kill, not really doing damage per se.

People need to stop thinking stacking balances a card like this.  You aren't going to get 6 of them out by the time you need them.

It's a great card, but it simply needs to be stronger.

For starters, it has to be cheaper if it's going to protect a combo, because the combo has to drop fast.  And again, 1 is just too little.

Try:
3 life
Stops 3 damage

Upgraded,
2 life
Stops 3 damage.

That way it will actually keep that rustler working (except for freeze, lobo, reverse time, permanent control, shockwave, rage potion, lightning bolt, and mutation)

I see what you are trying to do with the 'immunity to a damage source' but this would get hard to track, confusing and is not truly necessarily.  Using your own life as a shield for your creatures is thought provoking.  Gl1tch is on the ball where 3 is a good number, but... then it can't stack.

Perhaps "If your creatures would take damage, you take it instead" ... would give you poison counters from plague... basically make your creatures be voodoo to you, but they wouldn't take the pain as well.

But, if you buff it, it needs to do something more, something so if it stacks you aren't wasting it... like how Sanctuary has healing... Just seems to be how Zanz likes to develop permanents that can be stacked.

How about Rage elixer?
Is it +6/-5 if you have one on?

So give it an ability that doesnt stack and an ability that does? Interesting. Id have to think about it some more....

Along the same line as the immunity. What if the "bond" gets "stronger" the more you put on the field. What I mean by that is what if it blocked any CC that did less damage then the number of bonds you have -1.

nevermind. this is before breakfast. that would be confusing.

What about....... Eh ill give my brain time to mull on this.

How about Rage elixer?

yes. that was the idea.

What about...

"Your health absorbs damage done to your creatures."

And for the unupped it is 3 life for 3 protection for each creature divided by number of bonds in your control. And upped its 2 life for 3 protection per creature divided by number of bonds in your possesion.

What do i mean by that?

How does that sound?

How do i explain that in the card?
