Hmmm. The wording may be a little odd for new players to figure out. Since "focus" is not a common term defined in the game and there is still space on the card, it would be a good idea to define it, or else change the wording so more well defined terms are used...
maybe something like:
"Whenever your opponent targets one of your creatures, the spell or effect is randomly redirected."
Would be more clear.
Or, you can define "lose focus" for use in future cards:
"Hostile spells and skills that target your creatures lose focus (retarget randomly)."
I like the concept, though I think something similar was suggested before... though probably to be implemented in a slightly different manner.
AoE Spells do not target, per se, so I'd suggest not including them.
I've seen this point come up a number of times... I believe AOE effects do "target" creatures, they just do so automatically rather than requiring specific user interaction.
There's been some debate whether it is feasible to distinguish between the two under the current game code... I don't remember much of that debate other than that if something interacts with targeting of a direct target spell, it will also do so for an AOE spell.
So this seems to imply that if AOE spells are not made exempt, then they would end up spamming their effects to 1 random creature for each of your creatures they would otherwise target.
E.g. If you had 5 creature and this in play, and opponent casts plague, the 5 random creatures would be inflicted with poison status
I actually like the idea of disrupting AOE more than direct targeting. If this card only affected AOE spells and effects, it would make a nice counterpart to cloak, which prevents direct targeting but not AOE.
