NOTES: [/color][/b]
This gives a way to provide some semblance of defense against enemy spells. Multiple Poppets would apply sequentially (so test for spell absorption on the first one, if it passes, check on the second). The downside of this card is 1)It's poor attack per cost, and 2) The fact that it affects your own spells.

I'd say its overpowered, maybe if it absorbs the spell you get some quantums, or the poppet weakens because spells aren't really meant to be countered

I was going to write a big rant about Overpower, but rescinded it.

Note the ability refers to spells only, and not cards played so it does not stop permanents or creatures. In watching a few games against AI5 this card would do nothing beneficial for me except have a chance of stopping a Quintessence.

I think only slightly (overpowered), because decks with no means of creature control besides spells, which are the vast majority anyway, would be virtually shut down with 4 of these on the board. Hard hitting is not exactly gonna work because of the good synergy with vampires.

My justification for it being balanced is that it seemed to be fair in that it stopped 2 or 3 spells for 6 quanta, with the chance to be killed first, which seems fair compared to destruction or creature control spells. Lowering the absorption rate (maybe to 25%/33%) could alter the balance a little.

I like the weakening thought thematically, though I was trying to make it still somewhat feasible to put spells in your own deck given the benefit to your poppets. Any thoughts on how to fix that?
