A rift of some kind would do nicely.

Try this:


The red ring repsents the "rift" in a sense, which supposedly leads to a blue sky (indicating the different dimension, and I'm assuming that the sky is blue in elements).  The yellow dots are sort of representing shattered immortality, since immaterial is represented by the  mark.

As a frequent user of fractal I can tell you that aether doesn't need any more absurdly expensive cards. Fairly expensive is fine though.

it's not lobotomizing. not at all. just removes immortality from creatures
