well... that starts a large discussion about which mechanics are from MtG and wich are original, because we have a lot of mechanics that are also in MtG. You can say that there are basic mechanics and those are the ones we share with MtG, but always control a creature could be another. I'm totally opposed to copy from other games, but some mechanics are good and don't forget that the objective is to improve the game to make it more and more playable and funny.

Let's say that I'm agree with you: let's trie to invent new mechanics (like mutation, for example). But why not to use some that could fit in the game to work for this pourpose I was talking about?

I agree with Drobbit. I think uniqueness is good, but sometimes good cards are just good cards.

Also, Magic has over 11000 cards iirc. I doubt there are very many cards in Elements that aren't similar to something in Magic.

Yeah, maybe I am jumping the gun a bit so I apologize. I saw a trend of cards that made me immediately think of cards in MtG and I was just voicing a concern. My bad if this is the case :( Please keep in mind I've played MtG 10+ years and have (had maybe) a working knowledge of all the cards in the game.

Still, I know that a good card is a good card, regardless of where it came from, but I just want to see as much uniqueness as possible. Just me being me ;)

I guess that's mostly my fault. My card was basically as direct a port as possible of a pair of cards. I know I've seen the mechanic in other games, but the first one I think of is Change of Heart from Yugioh actually.

Again, I'd rather have unique AND good cards, but I'm ok with cards that are just good.

Apparently, all your cards are darkness, how about a different element for a change? This might possibly help you from abstaining other people's ideas.

This isn't even close to being true.  He has card ideas for :life, :death, :air, :time, and (1 card idea for) :darkness.

Oops, sorry, that was another user. Anyways, ninjaclone, think about real life, they can give you an inspiration. That was how I thought of my Elemental Grounds series.

Guys, i REALLY appreciate all your help... I'm not a great card maker...And btw kuross, yeah i do take ideas from MtG cuz im a fan of it too =P. I dont exactly COPY the card, i just take an idea from magic and edit it to fit in with Elements. It's a good idea IMO. Not many notice it, except for the ones who play MtG 10+ years ;)
