I think I'll have to leave the way it judges who has more HP based on the amount of current HP both players have left as opposed to percentages.
Thoughts?
Yes leave it as simple as the bare visible number. 2/500 is more than 1/100. It's not bad Math, HP just doesn't come in fractions.
Both ways seem fairly valid to me. Leaving it as bare value is mainly an issue in arena, HB and FG. In pvp it won't come up unless fighting either a stone skin or SoD user so thats situational enough that it shouldn't have a major impact.
What is interesting is that when used in arena decks, it will be more likely to gain the bonus attack, whereas when used by a player fighting an arena deck, it is more likely to provide healing... that makes for a very nice symmetry which is pretty cool.
I think the wording of Triumph is exactly right.
I really like this idea! I haven't got a clue where to start in terms of whether it's 'balanced' or not. It's kind of two cards - but two weak cards - and then it's not necessarily either of those because you can't necessarily be sure which effect you'll get. Maybe you only want him for the Buff ability but fate's not with you there - that's a weakness.
Given his sponginess (with only 3 HP | 4 HP) and low attack (I assume he buffs himself, btw?) I think he looks a little expensive.
Nightfall: +1/+1 for 3
Jade Staff: +5 Regen. per turn for 2
But these are both permanents, and critically not fractallable. Of course that's a real word, don't be silly.
The HP gain seems fair, but will that quadruple if hit with Adrenaline? I think that's fair, but this is all telling me it should remain as expensive as it is!
I don't know, haha
Fractal abuse, in the healing case, shouldn't be to bad. Healing 2 HP each probably won't be game breaking, even when spammed. Its equivalent to just putting 2 empathic bonds out so I think its ok.
The attack bonus, on the other hand, could escalate out of control fairly quickly. It effectively becomes an attack power version of swarm. The mathematics on that mechanics fractal interactions have come up repeatedly. The long and short is that it ends up being OP even in the minimum +1 attack each case. That said, it can work out alright in more limited cases.
Some examples
-Only affects adjacent creatures. This inherently limits it to giving no more than +7 on a fully crowded field
-Only affect creatures in row (+8 max) or column (+5 max)
-Non-linear scaling... Can be adjusted to whatever your math-fu is able to come up with, but you probably won't be able to fit a full description
Other than the fractal abuse with the attack bonus, I think the card is pretty sweet. Nice job.
