1) Why?
2) Consume differs from Devour. A hypothetical Otyugh with 2|4 hp would cost about 2 :gravity|4 :gravity which is about 4.5 :rainbow|7.5 :rainbow.

1) Because there's a strong connection between the theme and name, and because I can :>
2) I don't really understand, are you suggesting a buff, nerf, thematic change? On the card cost, ability cost?

1) There are no better reasons for a card to be made other than meta-game fixing. There's nothing wrong with a thematically valid card with a unique mechanic and little-to-no effect on the meta-game.

1) Increasing the metagame is my typical goal. (which metagame fixing happens to do at times) Typically people suggest cards they feel are valuable. I expect you do not value this card just because it is thematic and unique. Therefore I asked "Why do you think the card is valuable?"

Nope, that's basically the only reason I value it: because there are no omnivore cards currently in the game and this card represents the essence of omnivores quite well :P
Examples of related cards valued solely because of theme: Schrodinger's Cat, Voodoo Doll, Crusader
(Note that the difference is that the above cards have their own niche, while Omnivore has around the same niche as Otyugh.)

All three of those are valued for the consequences of the mechanic they herald.
Death Triggers on command, Redirect damage, Replicate Weapons
If it is only the theme that makes it valuable then please describe why this theme is valuable unlike other non valuable themes. (or should all possible themes be in EtG?) Please make your case.

Because that would be too many card effects to keep track of, some wouldn't fit EtG, might be some coding problems due to the volume of content, ...
Seriously, anything beyond 10^9th is obviously ridiculous. Therefore the better themes should be included at the expense of the worse themes. Is this a better theme and why?
