ART: migster99 IDEA: furballdn NOTES: Balanced around Silence. Silence stops opponent from playing any cards for a turn, this basically stops them from playing any creatures for a turn. Is this elemental hate? Yes, it is, but it's the same as flooding in that its negative effect is meant to apply to everyone, but water creatures and elementals are immune. Any creatures played or spawned onto a flooded tile will die after attacking unless they are water or other. The flooded tiles return to normal after the next turn. This lets water, which isn't really a fast element, "catch up" in speed, and it synergizes nicely with cards like Chrysaora or Ice Bolt. This also opens up strategies in the order in which creatures are played and killed. There's also a general SoP synergy that can be used offensively, and if further flood mechanics (such as water creatures avoid targetting in water), it will have even more uses. SERIES:

Didn't see that. Sorry. I feel it's a bit different in that this is able to be used in a mono and it's not repeatable. Your card is 3 cards + 4 for indefinite field lock, something that can only be achieved mid-late game where the effectiveness of it is lowered. Deluge is more akin to silence in that it's supposed to come out early as that's when it has the most use. Also, what sense does it really make to have a card that does repeatable X when X doesn't have a standalone card or X is only useful early game? It's also a spell and not a creature, so it's not vulnerable to CC and the like, and there's no way to make a deck based completely around it trapping the opponent, which as Odin said, "would get old real fast"

That being said, I am forced to acknowledge the uncanny similarities between the two cards, and as yours was made before mine, whether or not I submit this to the crucible will be up to your decision.

It's fine.  As you point out, they have different uses.  Seeing as they will be in different polls no matter what, I don't see a real issue.  Maybe just link mine in the Notes just for reference.
