I think you are getting this whole thing wrong. This is not about backing down, which implies that you see this as some kind of competition. You put your idea out there (which is admirable), and people here give you feedback and constructive criticisms. Don't take this process so negatively. Instead, use people's feedback to your advantage and create/produce something even better.

I had an idea like this a long time ago, except as a permanent, and called them anti-pillars.

In general I think it's too difficult to use if it absorbs a specific element from your opponent.

Maybe give it above average stats and make it absorb quanta from yourself? (Or something similar)
