This weapon could probably fit in fire or darkness just as well, or even pure gravity, but the duo has a rather nice thematic appeal.
Basically its a blade that grows stronger by disembowling enemies. The gravity quanta helps give it the push it needs to drive into its victims.
This fits nicely into the death element since it provides a means to produce much desired death effects.
