Anyways, I agree with the point that unlimited purify casts for the unupped seems too powerful - perhaps more powerful than the upped.
Mmm to be honest I think you went for too much for the unupped. Spitting out purify's like that seems quite overpowered.
I could see either a cost reduction of the card or a cost reduction on the ability.

It would refresh all the preexisting poison counters, right? Apart from cost reduction, maybe giving it the same abilities as the upped, but with a higher purify counter requirement for it to start adding more could be nice?

Agreed, this is pretty similar to Oceanus (cool Greek name) but I think this is a bit different in that it adds up damage, too.
One last small thing, I feel that the unupped name should be changed from "Spear of Innocence" to something like "Spear of Cleansing". Innocence to me seems to be associated with Light.
