what would people think of simply changing the "improve" ability so that all permenent/spell effects are available, not inluding miracle, for example then you could have creatures with empathy, hasten, fire bolt, ice bolt, life suck, lightning and so on and so forth. costs would have to be the same as the card obviously.

that would be way too overpowered...

empathy - if you have a full field, this will heal you for 23hp...
fire bolt/ice bolt/life drain - i don't think i even need to tell you why that's OP...
and then you have things like rain of fire...

but it wouldn't be op, the costs would all be the same as the spell/permanent thats effect is being used and you don't get to choose the ability, actually the more abilities that are available, the less opportunity for any one ability to come up. however i think hat this would kinda capitalize on the strength/weakness of entropy. the strength/weakness of entropy is that its random mostly, anything can happen, so if this were done than it would only make that more likely.

Really, do you think if someone got icebolt the just have the 30 or 40 quantum on hand to make it OP, although rain of fire may be a bit much I can't think of anything else that is.

ok so rain of fire might be OP, but it isn't likely (except in a rainbow deck) that the person is going to have the quantums to cast it anyway. anyway it was just a thought

I do like the idea of adding some, or most of, the effects that are not from creatures. Maybe just add a list on you first post of the specifics and you'll get more of a reply.

ummmm....but there is a card called empathic bond that does this so how would this be any different?

Because you could potentially heal 529 points a turn! (23x23)

Even just 4 creatures with a couple graveyards to flood your field with skeletons and you're getting a free miracle every turn.

well yes but not all of your creatures would have empathy, if this happened you might get 1 or 2 creatures with empathy but you would also have a myraid of other skills

and i think some of these posts are made on the assumption that you would gain the spell card when i mean that you would (could?) get that effect on whatever creature was mutated

and isn't the field limit 21? I don't know.

Maybe raise the cost? Like have empathy not as passive, and have it so they need to be activated, which takes a turn. This would make it easier to counter.

P.S. Would any of our number people say what the odds are of getting a creature with empathy if it was put in with everything else, I'd assume low.

Almost every creature with an ability has an activated ability. The other abilities are triggered and do not have a game-changing effect but mostly produce quanta. Giving a creature activated abilities that do direct damage or board-sweeping effects is just plain overpowered. Those abilities are spell-only for a reason. As for static abilities like stasis or triggered abilities like Empathy, those are color-specific and should remain unique to the card to which they belong. Also, there are even creature abilities that were left off of the mutate list, most notably Queen, Lobotomize, and Immortalize. I think we all know why.
