A generated creature is still a card and that card has a cost on it. As far as I know the game doesn't record where creatures come from or how much was paid for them. Mechanically there is no difference between playing the card skeleton, and the skeleton card generated from boneyard.

That and it would be hell to program.

Maybe set it up so when one creature dies, all creatures that share it's name also die?  So it's not a kill spell per se?

Then it'd have to be a permanent wouldn't it?

Or an ability on a creature.  Like.....

Over Zealous Paladin  :light :light :light :light
1|3
:light Deal 1 damage to target creature.

With the passive ability, whenever a creature is killed by Over Zealous Paladin, all creatures sharing it's name die as well.

I just don't see how a re-useable version of the spell (that is the spell tacked onto a permanent) is more balanced if the original spell is too powerful.

It focuses it's use down.  With the Over Zealous card, you have to kill it with the paladin.  Which means you either have to widdle it down a lot, or have a lot of them on the field.  But that makes growth creatures very killable, and it helps defeat things like malignant cells in one fell swoop.

That doesn't make it less OP, but it does make the card focus more on what you originally wanted it to do.  Another upside, purely using the card, killing the creature will cost  :light mana equal to it's toughness, like you wanted the card to.

Simply a Card costing 7 that can remove a dragon costing 10+ is overpowered unless conditional.

The added fact that this may also strip more than 1 card makes it even more over powered.
True. Maxwell's Demon can kill one dragon but the fact that this can kill more than one at a time is kind of beefy. What about making this work only on creatures with HP of 4 or less? This makes it functionally weaker than rain of fire but still carry out the original function.
Maxwell's Demon and paradox is powerful but is weakened by the fact you can see it and find a solution before it costs you. You can firebolt or freeze or kill the demon before he gets you, but you can never defend against the spell cast.

More conditions could make the card plausible. Choosing only meek targets could help is it out of theme tho, light burning away meek creatures?

Hmm, here's a way to balance it.

Destroy all creatures with target creature's name, except for target creature.

Helps a wee bit I suppose...
I like this. You can't strip an opponent back to nothing but you can get your edge back if they mass out. Someone dumps 2 Emerald Dragons, you can kill one and they are not decimated but are cut back. Against Incarnate and his mass line up it will bust 2-3 vamps but only if he is ahead by having a mass on the table.

The Original Submission is yes. Do you have any ideas to make the card work as requested slowing Swarmers without actually breaking the value of the card and its use in other ways. What conditions would you give it?

any idea that can kill 2+ dragons (or equivalent creatures) in one hit is OP no matter of the cost...
