There wasn't any logic behind having to use Air, either. Both of those Elements could propel the Narwhal forward. I liked the Earth/Water synergy as well since it would encourage that duo more than lousy Trident. However, the latest change is very strange. Perhaps you need to look at how the other creatures in the game are balanced. 4 for an 8-attack creature is madness.

A Water Creature with no effect and 0<HP<6 should have a cost equal to its attack or its attack - 2 for the upgraded version.

IE
unupped
Cost = Attack
3 = 3 attack
or
5 = 5 attack

upgraded
Cost = Attack -2
4 = 6 attack (Abyssal Crawler is more powerful than most upgrades for some reason.)
or
6 = 8 attack

I think your Earth Skewer idea was good. I figured that it used earth since it needed the earthy nutrients to get a horn strong enough to skewer something. I mean, earth is is already related to the hardening and toughening of creatures with Plate Armor and Gargoyle.


If you need some numbers I say this for Normal:

Narwhal

3|3
  Skewer: Deal 2 damage to target creature

And this for Upped:

Elite Narwhal
5 
4|4
  Skewer: Deal 3 damage to target creature


Also "Elite Narwhal" is kind of unimaginative. How about White Whale for the Upped version, in reference to Moby Dick

Sorry, had to. Explaining the Earth reasoning ends up being very far-fetched, but it doesn't really matter. Many things in the game aren't logical, and they don't need to be. It's a game.
However, a White Whale couldn't skewer anything. Elder Narwhal or Alpha Narwhal could work, or even Armoured Narwhal.

seems more like a fire card to be honest, because of how fire cards have high attack and very low health.  Just seems off-element, that's all.
