I think it can be a good idea and can open a lot of new different strategies...the only problem is that it can't be very useful with 3 color deck or more... to slow...

How would it handle switching from a fire-gravity to fire-gravity-earth or vice-versa.

Load a Dual-Card (it splits them back to the basics).
You add your new card in the third slot(or re-arrange and add it in second maybe).
Pay full to generate the Combined-Card, or would you only pay the difference (+ penalty). So maybe difference*1.2.

Why increase the price? Getting a deck ful of these would cost a lot, especially if you don't need one of the elements anymore and need to replace your pillars.
What do you do when you re-design your deck? Are you out all those pillars or can you just forget the cash and revert them all to basics to be swapped out?

cards       cost          +              total+      -               total-
1              6
2              24                                            24            30
3              54            36            60            34            62
4              96            51            105          44            106
5              150          65            161          53            163
6              216          80            230          63            231
7              294          94            310          72            312
8              384          108          402          82            404
9              486          123          507          92            508
10            600          137          623          101          625
11            726          152          752          111          753
12            864          166          892

Going fairly simply on a 1.2 multiplier for adding a card and 0.8 for removing a card, the + column would be how much it would cost to add 1 card from the current setup and the - would be the same for removing that card. The Total+ and Total- columns are the final cost of the change(not cumulative). The combined cost for multiple cards would be simple enough to calculate.
* i was bored and it was easy enough so i did the table up to 12 cards as 1 slot for each color

Then, if you choose, you could just scrap everything and fully revert the card for free (or maybe half the base cost to generate it).

Also, would it allow Quantums to be added?
