Why should we only have one choice of upgraded Monsters? And for that matter, why should we only have on Upgrade available?

I am creating this thread to discuss ideas about Upgrading. Not just about giving the ideas, but refining them so they do not ruin the game.

One of thing I have noticed is the diversity of Upgrades. Some cards just get cheaper, while other get more powerful but more expensive, and then there are cards that get more powerful, but are neither cheaper of more expensive… and I say, why can’t we have a choice? On top of that, why not have upgrade paths as such? Why stay at lvl 2 Monsters, when we could go to level 5 or 10?

What are your thoughts on this?

2. There are no levels, just upgraded and not, like in Heroes 3 and 5.
1. Those improvements are good enough.

3. Although, making it so an upgrade can either reduce the cost, strenghten the creature, or even do a major redo, as three diverse options, isn't a bad.

2 then 1? XD

1. Maybe for you, and maybe at the moment...and just how old is this game?
2. Ah, but why can't we have levels hmmm?

3. It take it you mean that the idea isn't a bad one... if so, then thanks

3. I may take it as so.
1. Not so olde, and... well, they are better than the normal cards.

2. So the no-life obsessed addicks like some people here don't sit on 50 hours a day and earn millions of Electrum to upgrade their cards into 0 quanta to play, 100/100 monsters and permanents with 0 cost to summon and 0 cost to use Hasten, multiple times per turn possible.

Don't 100% understand 1 & 3 so...

2. Well obviously there is going to be a limit to what you can do to the cards. Plus to make it fair I think someone can only face others with card levels only one above or bellow them.... so the lvl one newbs get pounded by lvl 5 masters.

3. I do think the idea may be considered.
1. The game is not so old. Also, the upgraded cards are better than the normal ones, so they're worth it.

2. It is just a bad idea anyway

1. Maybe not... but it's only a few years old right?
2. Why so?
3 Ah okay

We could pick what the upgrade does, i.e. cost, power, health, ect... for now, but it should be limited to one-two upgrades because of the early stage the game is in.

Agreed with both things, through maybe at some time it could be devolped to say... four upgrades? Maybe nine?

On a side note, I really hate the fact that Elite Firefly's generate Fire quantums, not light as they did non-elite. That's slightly annyoing...

One, maybe two upgrades, but no more. A reduced cost and increased effect or cost reduced more is powerful already.

Imagine a 1 Darknesse cost Steal.

Ever heard of limitations?

And Improved Darkness already costs 2, so redicuing by one won't have that much of an effect
