how would this help otk decks?  for every situation this might save you, you'll probably get 2-3 situations where you draw this when you need to draw sundial, dim shield, etc.

Not saying its worth a spot, but think Instosis vs. Incarnate and you have to discard a chimera, but all you need is a bit more quanta.  Play the combo, and pray to the RNG god that you draw a Snova or something.  Also, think of a shrieker rush, play your shrieker, you know your enemy has CC, use this card, get an attack in, burrow next turn, CC card is wasted (used, but no target).  I still think it should stop attacks too though, sundial/silence combination.  Justifies higher cost.

More than anything it would let you play mind games with opponent. Suppose you play a big nasty critter that just needs one more round so it can use its ability. You play this to give it time. Opponent otk bolts you on their turn. You then play mirror shield and watch them suck on their own bolt when the delay effect wears off at the end of your turn.
Not saying it isn't situational, but it gives you a way to possibly trick the opponent into acting when they normally would not.
Similar trick could work for "Its a trap" voodoo grav pull, or SoSac.
I.e. you trick your opponent into dealing heavy damage while this is active and turn it against them.

I think it will only be truly useful as a permanent that lasts more than one round though.

Except that instosis is already an eight card combo.  If you have this in your hand, you're missing another piece of the combo in addition to whatever quanta issues you have.

Sure, but that's not helping your otks like some people are saying.

Sure, but that's not helping your otks like some people are saying.

I guess that depends on how you define "OTK"... if it accumulates damage over several turns and then releases it on the end of the turn it expires, you've technically delivered the killing blow in a single term... though I'm inclined to agree that that is more a matter of semantics. The more I think about it, this card is more of a means to force a draw than win a game.
