1)That is usually called their Element. (Marks generate quanta)

2)
A creature can only have 1 "active ability". Certain abilities are labeled "active abilities". If a creature gets a new "active ability" it will overwrite the old one with a few exceptions*. "Passive abilities" are all the abilities without the "active ability" label. There is a short list of "passive abilites"#. All "activated abilities" are "active abilities" but some (half?) "active abilities" are not "activated". Active abilities" with activation costs are called activated abilities. "Active abilities" without activation costs do not have a standard name. Usual names are 'nonactivated active' or merely 'active'.


*Momentum will be replaced but have the status effect remain.

I selected these specific abilities because they can be identified without covering the camouflage wording, all of them have its function(in their respective in game card), wrote also on the bottom of the card, wich i think it's enought to be recognised.
Did you think it will be difficult to implement this function in the game?
For the wording i haven't had enought space to wrote something more specific, did you think it will be enought to be understood?
Did you have some suggestions on how to write the wording?

Creatures cannot have 2 active abilities. Having Camouflage as a repeatable activated ability that grants nonactivated active abilities would require rewriting how active abilities work. (aka very unlikely)
^This version would be best described as: "Change Chameleon's element and gain a second active ability."


I would recommend changing the card so it does not require rewriting how active abilities work. (aka change it so it does not have 2 active abilities at the same time)

Camouflage ability will not be showed on the bottom on the card after the switch, but one should be able to active it anyway, like this:

It solve the activation cost, but the mechanic will stay almost the same.
Sure with a 100% random theme i think entropy will fit best and also without the problem of finding a specific abilities to avoid the wording space, like i did before, i think a reviewing of the possible abilites must be done.

I would reduce the chance so that it remains in each form longer.

You want abilities that are generally useful even for short periods of time and without additional support. Also you want the abilities to be roughly equal.
Examples:
 :aether Wisdom
 :darkness Vampire
 :death Venom
 :earth Burrowed (no attack reduction)
 :gravity Acceleration
 :life Regenerate

You could even have new abilities like:
 :fire Blazing: Deals double damage but loses hp.
 :air Archer: Snipe a random enemy creature each attack.

The second version was with a passive, but i'm learning to keep things more likely the actual game, so create a new passive so specific and without the chance to be applicable to many creatures will not have that many chances to be one day insert.

Lots of passives are specific.
