SO here goes another card, I apoligise to all who have brought Phoenix up before no intention meant to disaude from your ideas.

Life: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,2989.msg29106#msg29106

Here we have a Fire/Air combo that I was hoping had good traction.

Baby Phoenix/Phoenix/Mighty Phoenix

Djinn/Djinn Lord

So these are the ideas, the Djinn alone is a decent addition to an air deck although its ability would be useless without Phoenix in your deck.

Thanks

Scyther.

(The Phoenix seemed to be flaggin its, last futile attempts to rise from the ashes seemed to struggle in painful repose. The Djinn looked on with sadness and in his response raised a great wiond that fanned the Phoenixs flames ever hotter til it rose again, a turbulent slipstream firing like a blazing streak into the night sky)

Oooo, a triple upgrade.  I was wondering when those would start popping up...

Sorry I should really clarify that for everyone:

The Baby Phoenix is the same as a malignent cell, the only reason it has a cost is incase of rewind. You cannot buy it or have it in your deck, the only way to have one is for your phoenix to die.

On another note I did consider giving baby Phoenix Hatch for 6 :fire to turn Baby Phoenix into a Phoenix but then decided that would be over the top comepletly.

Thanks for you time.

I'd rather use a Dragon, they cost less and are more lethal.

Find me a fire dragon that is a strong as this and I'll believe you.

Currently Fire Dragons are as follows:

Crimson Dragon is 12|3 for 10 :fire

OK so thats pretty good but can be killed fast as well.

Phoenix is 8|3 for 10 plus 4|1

This basically makes it stronger when you look at the comparetive theorum but that just depends on how you use them.

I suppose in someways the Hatch would have been good but I really didn't want to go down the OP route.

PLus remember the SYnergy of these cards is what you are after.

So your Phoenix does how much damage in the 2 turns it is +2 and how many of them you have in play I suppose.

I seem to be talking in circles today but I see your point.

Good ideas, and people have been coming up with these for quite a while. However, the simple matter to state is that people WON'T BOTHER killing the Pheonixes because they KNOW that it's a fruitless task. They'll use a Bonewall, Mutation, Phase Shield, Eternity, or other alternative defense.

Unless they use it in a fire death deck and kill them themselves, knowing it's three kills for the price of one.  Or use them as devour food.  Besides, whether or not they want to, they'll kill the Phoenix some of the time.  Maybe nerf Phoenix to a 6|3?

Yes and that is the way it should be, although there is nothing to stop you killing your own Phoenix...lol

This mainly is in play because I liked the idea, i did toss up Efreets and Balrogs as well but Phoenix won out due to the artwork I had.

The other advantage would be a liquid shadow combo on it so when it dies you get it.

The main idea I had was immolation. Play one phoenix, kill it play 2 more. and you have a Baby phoenix in play, out a Djinn out and Fan into Flame and you get a +6 for two turns.

Just an idea though

seems to me the phoenix is also a perfect match for Immolation which could make for some interesting decks.

aHAH. Never realized that. :)

Now, these are the kind of flashes that make this game so epic. That's a great suggestion.

Packing a fire decks with these guys rather than Ash Eaters (and some extra Immos) would be rather awesome. :P

Thats the idea, this particular one I had in mind to synergise with fire cards already in play.

Thus why I think it is better than a Dragon, I mean hey would you scarifice a Dragon just ot play 2 more unless you got a bonus for it?

Thanks for the heads up

I love the idea, but I think that Mighty Phoenix is a bit underpowered...

Basically, a Mighty Phoenix is like a 8,5|7 creature (couse it has 9 attack and phoenix has 8, and their combined resilience is 7)...

Not very good for a 15 creature...

Maybe lowering his price to 12?
