The ability to see the elements of the opponent's card is a 'passive skill' called 'vision', and is always in effect as long as one shrimp is alive on your side of the board.

Very interesting concept. Obviously pointless against mono decks, and probably limited helpfulness against rainbows. I see this as most useful against a duo/trio that's mostly one element with some key cards of another element that you can pick out easily.

I would increase the cost a bit though. The unupped version is similar to a blue crawler with one less hp, but lower cost and two abilities.

The shockwave seems a bit random. Toadfish already has a CC ability that uses air, so I'm not sure about this.

I admit it does seem random, but I was basing it on a real life bad ass animal that has both abilities.

Quote from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mantis_shrimp
...Both types strike by rapidly unfolding and swinging their raptorial claws at the prey, and are capable of inflicting serious damage on victims significantly greater in size than themselves. In smashers, these two weapons are employed with blinding quickness, with an acceleration of 10,400 g (102,000 m/s2 or 335,000 ft/s2) and speeds of 23 m/s from a standing start,[7] about the acceleration of a .22 calibre bullet.[8][9] Because they strike so rapidly, they generate cavitation bubbles between the appendage and the striking surface.[7] The collapse of these cavitation bubbles produces measurable forces on their prey in addition to the instantaneous forces of 1,500 newtons that are caused by the impact of the appendage against the striking surface, which means that the prey is hit twice by a single strike; first by the claw and then by the collapsing cavitation bubbles that immediately follow.[10] Even if the initial strike misses the prey, the resulting shock wave can be enough to kill or stun the prey.

...

Eyes
The midband region of the mantis shrimp‘s eye is made up of six rows of specialized ommatidia. Four rows carry 16 differing sorts of photoreceptor pigments, 12 for colour sensitivity, others for colour filtering. The mantis shrimp has such good eyes it can perceive both polarized light, and hyperspectral colour vision.[11] Their eyes (both mounted on mobile stalks and constantly moving about independently of each other) are similarly variably coloured, and are considered to be the most complex eyes in the animal kingdom.[12][13] They permit both serial and parallel analysis of visual stimuli.
I would increase the cost a bit though. The unupped version is similar to a blue crawler with one less hp, but lower cost and two abilities.
Noted.  I will balance the stats before submitting to Crucible.

Sweet mechanic!! Another twist to precog :P I'd love to use this in-game. It would make you rely on your knowledge rather than a straight sneak peek.
So, tell me my friend, what can you see? What comes into your mind as you breathe?
'cause I see colors flourishing like you'd never believe... like a pendulum swings, they swing with me!

I'm more focused on the Shockwave. If this card or a similar one ever gets made, I'll go Water/Air duo in an instant.

Maybe make two cards?; Sonic Shrimp and then Psychic Shrimp?

That would be cool, otherwise it stays as an awkward multifunction creature.

This card is an homage to the actual creature, so it will retain both skills.

Besides, just having the 'elemental vision' skill on a creature is a bit UP and would require great stats to make up for it.  And of course, a repeatable shockwave would be OP.  Consider the Devourer which has two skills, or any airborne creature with an activated skill.

I think it would be better if it went like this "Shockwave. Deals 4 damage to the target, instantly killed if frozen. Can only be activated once."

I guess there's no room for that, and Zanz (and me personally) prefers 3-line texts :D

Well, viewing the elements should be passive, and un-lobotomizable, while shockwave won't
