Oh. Gotcha. I had mistaken the two for a 3-turn time bubble | 4-turn time bubble. My bad. However, compared to the upgraded card, the unupgraded card is fairly underpowered:
It gets an extra time bubble AND the cost decreases by 1. Usually upgraded cards only: 1. Decrease cost (deflagration), 2. increase effectiveness (ruby dragon), 3. Change completely (chaos power). This upgrade does both 1 and 2.


If you check out Freeze | Congeal, you can see that they both cost only 1 quantum yet increase from 3 to 4 missed turns. Shouldn't this be similar?

Well I don't want this to be the control that replaces Freeze | Congeal, I instead want it to be a slightly weaker alternative.

EDIT:  Also, would it be smart to lower the cost of Manipulate (Unupped) to 1 :time?

That's exactly what I meant.

either that or increase the time bubble for the unupped version to 3 turns and keep the cost the same (it'll follow along the time standards. i.e. Reverse Time, Precognition. Costs decrease while effectiveness stays equal)

Okay, this is either the final version or close enough to it.  If everyone would really want it to be 3 | 4 turn freeze, then I will have to increase the cost of the upgraded card to 2 :time.  I just don't want it because I don't want this to be an expensive mirror to Freeze | Congeal.

Should we just make one of the cards for every element now?  Part of the reason you want to limit the spread of each card-type is to keep the flavor/personalities of the elements distinct.  So far we have...

 :water Freeze
 :earth Basilisk blood
 :time Manipulate

Also, Manipulate needs a better name--something more time-based.

Eww, that wouldn't work out in the game, due to repetitiveness and lack of effects to inflict, and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.  Also, you forgot Chaos Seed.

Anyway, I would like to keep the name purely because we are manipulating :time itself to hold a creature in place.
