Make This Card Entry: Murky Water https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=4199.msg41346#msg41346
« on: March 20, 2010, 03:11:20 am »
EDIT: Card Changed

Can be used multiple times on the same creature. The halving effect divides the creatures attack by 2, and then rounds up. 13 attack would become 7. 3 attack would become 2.

If two or more are in play, all Murky Waters must be destroyed for the effect on targeted creatures to disperse.

I'm not sure if I would use this card. Spending 7 :entropy just to get all my creatures poisoned and frozen doesn't seem like the best choice for me.
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.

make it a 6-5 permanent
:entropy :entropy : flip a coin for all of your creatures separately.
you win some, you lose some.

Well, you'd need to use two of these for that to happen. It can only give one statues effect per use per creature.

That's not a bad idea. I'll consider it.

I don't get this card.

So I pay 8  :entropy for a 50% chance of something that benefits me happening? If I am unlucky (the other 50%), I have just wasted 8  :entropy and one card just so that I could kill/debuff my OWN creatures?!

A card that can potentially hurt you, must have a bigger chance of benefiting you. Otherwise the risk/reward just is not worth it.

It would make more sense if the negative effects affected your opponent, not you. But in that case it might need a nerf.

Lastly.. I don't see that image as a spell. Looks way too much like a permanent to me.

Let me get this straight... There is a card that REVERSES a creatures damage and makes it HEAL you instantly. But this one only halfs their damage and can be destroyed.

I'm sorry but does anyone else see how antimatter beats this in every way? Not to mention the fact that very few decks rely on only one big damage dealer. I can't even see a mono darkness deck using this. Sorry. Underpowered beyond belief.

The point isn't being to be better than this card or that card. Antimatter is a one time use card, giving you a max or only reversing 6 creatures attacks. You can only do more if you are lucky enough to have a Purple Nymph. Not everyone is going to use entropy.

Purple nymph is also a creature (easier to control, more expensive to protect) and more expensive.

Can Obscure be used on the same critter more than once? Is the effect bound to a particular fountain, or will any fountain still in play do?

Reversing 6 creatures will have a greater effect on the battle than halfing 20 of them. The best you're ever gonna get is a creature with 1 damage.

Saying that, i didn't read the card properly last time. I assumed once you play it, it is bound to whatever creature you played it on. Sort of like an equip card that so many card games use now days. Being able to play it once a turn on anything may be a little more dangerous, but i don't really see it as a threat unless the opponent manages to get about 3 out with a steady supply of quanta.

I can totally see this becoming the one overpowered card and all this coming back to bite me in the ass  :D
