NOTES:
I wanted to give  :time something based on its fantastic card draw abilities (hourglass, precog., sundial, nymph) other than a faster game. This card would need to be used strategically (with the before mentioned cards) to get the most benefit.

I spent a while trying to balance it (both power and un-upped vs upped) and couldn't make up my mind. I posted it here to get the idea out and I am open to suggestions.

I actually really like this concept. The name/art could be different; it seems a rather generic name. "Hmmm. I can't think of a good name for this, so... Let's make it a wizard!"

And I'm really not sure how to balance it. You'll usually have 5-7 cards in your hand using a time deck, and a 5/3 (potentially 7/5) for 5 quanta unupped seems fair. Upped, however, 9/7 for 5 quanta seems OP while 7/5 seems about right. So may I suggest making it N+1|N for upped? Still a significant improvement, but not as powerful.

Overall, a good idea for a mid-ranged attacker for time.

How about Magus apprentice | Magus elder.

Magus = an astrologer, sorcerer, or magician of ancient times.

As for the 9/7 comment... i think it is rare that people will have 8 cards in hand at the time they play... and is 8/7 really that much of a diff? Id like to hear more comments on this.

The art is always subject to change... i just wanted to get the concept out there.

only problem is what if you don't have enough cards in your hand? you need at least 3 cards to play this and on a pinch you would lose because you drew this

Dragonhuman, yes that is true for the un-upped version. However, I wanted to add some "penalty" b/c he is an apprentice and has not mastered the arts yet. Also, I was thinking this is a good mid level mono time when used in a deck specifically made for card draw. OR, upgrade it. Problem solved.  :D

Upgraded should cost one more time quanta IMO, or unupgraded should cost one less.

SilentShadow, I agree.

I changed the un-upped version to cost one less (since it dies unless you have 3 cards in hand). Also I made a minor change to the card art. Enjoy.
