Say, I played a pair of Minor Phoenixes in the same turn. Does Nihilist's Tome deal two instances of five points, one instance of ten points, or one instance of five points?

Also, this being a tome, is the damage dealt spell damage?

Two packets of 5 it would seem, unless it saves the damage until you end your turn.

Would it do the damage when said creature enters the field or does it have to be played from the hand? e.g. Deja Vu.

This looks massively OP in a Fractix... 5 damage for each Minor Phoenix being played, and it can easily be played with the off-element quanta of Cremation.
Hard to balance, as Fractal does it's "make CIA hard" job pretty good here. At least non-fire-elemental cost is needed. You may also restrict it to 1 shot per turn for creatures from your hand, while creature spawning does also trigger this (thumbs up for Dejas and Boneyard, but also SoR-Pharaohs).

Due to being a weapon, damage dealt is physical, as counterinuitive as that may be. I am willing to change the card's flavor if needed.

Noted. It seems Guild cards in general play better if put in one of the guild's elements. I've changed the card to cost 6 | 4 for the time being.
