ART: VK IDEA: furballdn NOTES: Kusanagi is the grass cutting sword, found in the belly of a snake. I wonder if anyone will be upset this is not a katana Life is all about cheapness and pure offense isn't it? Druidic staff doesn't seem to offer such offense, and I feel that this card allows to emphasize its offensive abilities. As for balance, 2 quanta upkeep is equivalent to 2 cards. 3 cards + 1 + weapon slot for 8|9 damage feels balanced to me. SERIES:

Really depends on how you define fit for life. What's unthematic about a cheap and powerful weapon but needs consistent quanta support?
After attacking, it will attempt to drain 2 from you. If you do not have 2 , it is destroyed if it is a permanent, and killed if it is a creature.

The quanta drain will happen AFTER it deals damage.

Kusanagi by itself is 3 cards + 1 . AW is 1 card + 1 :other. Epi is 1 card + 3 .
Flying epi Kusanagi would be 5 cards + 5 . Around 15 worth for 17 damage.
Epi will not affect how much it drains. It will still only drain 2 per turn.

Yet Epi give the creature some adding turns, multiple draining per turn (6) is certainly UP but it seems mechanic-wise anyway.
Synergy with certain cards should be considered but Anti-synergy isn't. Nobody's gonna accelerate his damsfly, right?

I don't think it would be too much work to program something special for this. Either only absorb after finished with attack (regardless of epi), or have a special counter checking to see if epi is active, and then making sure it only absorbs 2 .

Perhaps lower the damage of the upgraded to 8, and instead have the absorption lowered to 1 on it? That way the upgraded retains the optimal damage for adrenaline synergy.

But then it could potentially be powered by mark.

If you're devoting your entire mark to maintaining it, I'm pretty sure a +2 damage from Long Sword is worthwhile. Means you can't use your mark for other types of dual-costs, and if you use pends for more Life, you were going for more Life anyway.
