Killer Bees! https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=2173.msg17726#msg17726

I just literally dreamed these cards last night, and I thought they were cool enough to post.  If someone wants to make images for these (I don't have Photoshop), I'll love you forever. :)

It's a hive of bees, and it all starts with a permanent:

Honeycomb  (Upgrade: Massive Honeycomb)
5 Life -- permanent
3 Life: -- Spawn: create a Larva.  (Upgrade: Create a Giant Larva)

So, of course, what is a Larva?

Larva (Upgrade: Giant Larva)
3 Life -- creature
0/2.
Feed: If Larva leaves play for any reason except Metamorphosis, you gain 5 life.
2 Air: Metamorphosis: Larva enters a pupal state (looks like being Burrowed, but with a white 'ring' instead of a brown one) for 2 turns, during which it is untargetable.  At the end of two turns, a new creature emerges.  To determine what creature comes out, the Larva gets a single roll on a d%, with the following chances:

First, a  (1% + 2% per Drone in play + 5% per Soldier in play +10% per Autarch in play) of becoming a Hive Queen.
Then, a (5% +5% per Drone in play + 10% per Soldier in play) of becoming an Autarch.
Then, a (10% + 10% per Drone in play) of becoming a Soldier.
Failing all of these chances, the Larva becomes a Drone.

If necessary, the more-evolved forms nudge the less-evolved forms right off of the die.  For example, with 6 Drones, 2 Soldiers, and an Autarch in play, the chances of each form are:

1-33: Become a Hive Queen.
34-88: Become an Autarch.
89-00: Become a Soldier.

(ALL of these creatures become "elite" when they come from a Giant Larva.)

So, what are these lovely evolutions?  Bees, of course!

Drone (Upgraded: Elite Drone)
3 Life -- creature
2/2   (Upgraded: 3/3)
Swarm to Repair: Whenever a Honeycomb is destroyed, each Drone heals you of 3 damage.

Soldier (Upgraded: Elite Soldier)
4 Life -- creature
3/4 (Upgraded: 5/4)
Swarm to Retaliate: Whenever a Honeycomb is destroyed, each Soldier doubles its current power.

Autarch (Upgraded: Elite Autarch)
5 life -- creature
3/6 (Upgraded: 5/6)
2 Air: Devolve -- target Bee devolves one category (Hive Queen --> Autarch --> Soldier --> Drone).
Swarm to Respawn: Whenever a Honeycomb is destroyed, each Autarch generates 2 Air Quanta and 1 (Giant) Larva.

Hive Queen Upgraded: Elite Hive Queen)
7 life -- creature
3/7 (Upgraded: 5/7)
4 Life: Evolve -- target Bee evolves one category (Drone --> Soldier --> Autarch --> Hive Queen).
Swarm to Reconstruct: Whenever a Honeycomb is destroyed, each Hive Queen generates 3 Life Quanta and a new (Massive) Honeycomb.

And there you have it.   A slow tidal wave of nastiness that has to be stopped fast or it will only grow when its roots are cut.  We needed more insects regardless. :)

If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

Actually, I was looking at an old Magic deck based on Force of Nature+Killer Bees last night. :)

I haven't followed Naruto since about the 7th episode of Shippuden.  It just got to take too long between interesting plot points.

Very nice and well thought out idea!

Only potential downside I can see is the sheer amount of coding, artwork, implementation and testing that would have to be done to make this idea a reality!

11/10 for an idea!
3/10 for practicality!

Regardless, I love it... and as you say, the game needs more insects!

3/10?  It's not any more complex than the Nymph's Tears --> Nymphs (--> Alchemy) line.

The real problem is all these cards would raise the number of "x" element cards to 16-17, giving it an edge over other elements..

I don't get what you said there, but I'm sure other elements can have their ideas implemented as well.

I mean, if so many cards are implemented for, say, life element, it would end up having a ton of cards more than other ones. That would require creating a TON of new cards to add to other elements.

Good ideas. I was bored, so I did 2 of them, but they came out quite shoddy. Sorry. :P
