NAME: Kael Hate
ELEMENT: Darkness
COST: 7*
TYPE: Creature
ATK|HP: 7|7
ABILITY: Seven Skulls Tradition: Perform
a random effect chosen from
the 7 virtues.
ART: Zoltan Bathory
Manually transfered from hard copy and edited.
IDEA: Kael Hate
NOTES: - This is me as a creature in elements.
- Kael is a translation of my given name and is the name for watching or judging angel.
- Hate is a translation of my surname an is taken literally as the emotion of Hate.
- Together they define my existence as a pure soul destined to judge what I purvey
by the rules given to me to judge by. Due to human imperfection under the judgement
of Angelic rules I have come to  Hate the human race and if given chance would kill you all.
- Why is the element Darkness? In real life I am always dressed in Black. Always.
There are no exceptions to this. I am also Photophobic/Photosensitive and cannot spend
time in direct sunlight without being poisoned.
- Why is my element generic? because I am not defined as normal people are. I can adapt
and relate under any circumstance drawing on knowledge from across mediiums allowing
me to call anything into question. A critic regardless of the conditions.
- What is the Seven Skulls tradition? It is a religious uptaking that I was burdened with.
It is group of 7 silver skulls I wear constantly defining the 7 virtues by which I live and judge.
They are from right to left Strength, Will, Determination, Perfection, Insight, Control, Knowledge.
Along with Hate they make the 8 pure forms found in all religions across earth.

- Kael Hate is an Angel and Undead
- Deployment cost must be paid from a single element
- the seven Virtues effects the ability Chooses from

 - Strength: Gains +4|+2
 - Will: Gains Immaterial or +2|+2 if Immaterial
 - Determination: Gains Momentum or +2|+2 if already Momentum.
 - Knowledge: Absorbs generic quanta equal to the cost of a random card in hand, then
generates quanta equal to the cost of that card in that cards element.
(basically converts quanta and guarantees the ability to cast the card)
 - Control: Steal target Permanent
 - Insight: Create a Random Card in Hand.
 - Perfection: Destroy target creature with less than 7 Atk or Atk Greater than its own Hp

SERIES: Forum name Card competition!

Clarify: does the ability target a creature or does it do it's ability for itself only? Because if it targets a creature, you need to change the thing about "or +2|+2 if Immaterial" because that's not possible, since an immaterial creature cannot be targeted. Otherwise, seems like an alright card since the ability instills a random effect, but does semi-border the OP line due to the "steal a target" part. Even if it's random, that means you have to use it on an opponent's creature, which with the other effects it could possibly due, seems like a stupid idea since the positive effect is too great. Same goes with the Perfection possibility.

But it feels inconsistent. you have abilities that target and card, and abilities that don't target a card. I don't believe that can be done. Unless you just pick a target anyway, just in case something happens to that target, but not a guarante to affect that target.

Only Control and Perfection Target cards.

The Rightwing Virtues Strength, Will and Determination Boost Kael Physically.

Control is specifically a Permanent and Perfection is Specifically against a creature.

It works because you click on Kael, then his ability activates casting one of the 7 random effects.

Ok, you explained nothing that I had hoped you would. When you click on Kael, his ability activated, casting one of the 7 random effects. How do the ones where you have to target a creature work? When you click on Kael, if it's one of the two targeting effects, the possibly target candidates are cross-haired? Same goes for the control, when you click Kael, does a cross-hair appear on the possible permanents appear? That is what i was stating above. Since the card had the possibility of activating targeting effects, and auto-self-targeting effects, I wasn't sure just exactly how it would work.

7/7 for upgraded version that can be buffed + can be Eclipsed + can cost anything for only 7 of any element?

This sounds more like an Entropy card.  But the abilities themselves don't seem unbalanced to me - other creatures can grow, mutants can steal consistently once they're established...

One difficulty I see is from a coding perspective.  You click this creature and it *might* have you target either a creature or a permanent, or neither.  It does make me glad the "cancel" button while targeting locks the ability out - you could click-cancel-click-cancel until you get the effect you want.  Ability definitely should have a quanta cost, probably 1 since that matches Growth.

The only other problem I see is usefulness.  I'd really rather use a Maxwell and Butterfly than this card, for consistency (from Entropy?  gasp!).

Why not make the ability cost 7 random as well? This fits with the theme almost perfectly.

You'd end up bankrupting yourself for a random effect.  Highest ability cost ingame currently is 4.

Thought of a good question, though - what happens if the effect would do nothing, Kael?  What if there are no targetable enemy permanents and the Steal effect is chosen?

Even if Pandemonium and Chaos Seed is comparable to Kael Hate, I think the main difference is that the former has effects based off already existing cards and that the latter has an edge as it has unique effects and potential. This card idea is just a bit too good in my view.

Maybe a bit vain, too.  :))

Edit: Or, I just checked the competition section after viewing the card. Happened several times already.  :)

However, 7 random quanta is not quite as difficult to produce than 4 mono. Its a 2 1/3 to 4 ratio (by pillars)
