Bird of Prey

ability: 3 air: hunt: deal 3 damage to a random opposing creature. if creature dies then bird of prey gains 2/2. if creature survives then bird of prey loses 1/1 and has the option to hunt again for -1 damage (EDIT: until the end of turn, it resets the next turn).

so its like the bird goes hunting, if it successfully kills its prey it has gained experience in battle and is stronger, as well has being fed so it gains energy (HP) but if it fails to kill its prey it is weakened from the battle and has to find other other prey. obviously the card my need some more balance.

It's fairly alright, although the damage could be 2. Let's leave 3 damage to rares.

could make it a rare monster. the idea with the three damage is that it has somewhere to go. so if you fail to kill the target then you don't go down to 1 damage which would be next to useless against a lot of creatures. i guess i should edit the original post to say, loses 1 damage until end of turn. as a matter of fact i will

So, you can use the ability multiple times per turn?

Also, if it targets a random creature, then I am alright with 3 or even 4 damage. RoF can hit everything for 7 Fire and OE can hit targetedly for 3 multiple times with no penalty, so...

you get the option to hunt again but only if the previous hunt failed (didn't kill anything) but on a repear hunt you still pay the full cost but you do 1 less damage
