Actually, I think that it's possible to justify this card's current effect, but in that case think Flames will need to be Airborne so that you can set up a combo with RoF/Sky Dive.  Also since they die immediatly they can combo with Soul Catcher.
True but it is thematically fitting for the card to deal direct damage. Besides 2 card threads do worse in the crucible than normal.
Since it will still be able to create new strategies I'd be fine with the change to direct damage, but I think it should be 3 damage for both cards in that case to make it viable.
Indeed 3 minimum.

I wonder: What if it were changed to: "Each time a creature is damaged your opponent loses 2 hp." ?
trying to give it more fire and less death feel.

Damage does kind of feel more firey than killing things, and it would strengthen the innate mono synergy and make it useful with cheap AoE like Thunderstorm.

I like that thought actually.

By the way, does anybody read the card notes, I added that it doesn't trigger the effects of Inferno, Graveyard, and yes I can add bonewall.
These issues came up the first time the card was submitted in its original form, and they were addressed.

let's assume half of us do that...
then the combo ruins half of the decks..

win...

I'm proposing to change it as such

Opt a) Every time a creature dies, inflict 3(4, maybe even 5?) damage to the opponent.

Opt b) Every time a creature is damaged, inflict 2(3,4?) damage to the opponent.  This effect can only occur once(twice, thrice?) per turn.

I think Opt B is good, would 5 times each turn with 3 damage each time work?

some comments:
a card in the crucible is already called Flame | Flame (
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,23276.0.html).the death triggered effects were until now reserved for Death. This could stay balance because Death does not have very efficient CC. With fire it is the contrary: Fire has plenty of CC. I would say that such a mechanic in fire will most probably lead to abuses.[/list]
