I don't see why it doesn't pasś the fractal test.

Let's say that I have fractal-ed this little dude, now I have 4-5 copies of it in my hand. I still need X dark quantum to use them all and enough creatures on the field to make it worth it, or both Fire and Darkness quantums to use them both, reducing their effects... If you need 3 Fractals to start having something powerfull, it is ok.

It's a nice card, that has many potential uses, similar to SoP in a way, and that is well designed with a new concept. I like it.

Here's an example; you can decide if it passes the fractal test or what to do about it.

Turn 1: 4+ Aether Pillars
Turn 2: Ball Lightning -> Fractal -> Immolate -> Jackal: 3 damage
Turn 3: 6x Ball Lightning -> Discard Jackal: 40 damage
Turn 4: Fractal -> win.

I don't think just increasing the cost will balance it.

Remember that that's how SoP used to be, and look at it now. Is dropping the HP boost really the best option?
