A fun little damage  :fire| :air card
The skill should be usable immediately

I was thinking for the unupped card the number of turns should be a random number between 1 and 4 so there's an even chance for either player to be burned. For the upped version I think the number of turns should be reduced to between 1 and 5 so there is a greater chance the opponent is burned. Also the ability should be able to be activated

For an example of how the burn works say you play the card and the random number is 1. So during your turn you play hot potato and pass it to your opponent. You end your turn also ending the first turn hot potato has been on the field so it burns the opponent.

The burn should be a passive skill and pass should be an active

costs wayyy too much...
also, add passive effect: can't be frozen, when targeted with freeze/congeal, heal whoever has potato on his side 10 hp, destroy potato

As far as the cost goes I suppose I could lower it a few  :fire but I don't think I should since it does do 10 damage and I think card cost is supposed to be influenced by damage it does. Look at unstable gas which cost 6 :air for 20 damage the same as upped hot potato so I think the cost is balanced.

For the freeze/congeal I think it should still work because it could be combined with this card to ensure a burn on your opponent but since it is a HOT potato maybe it shouldn't, I'll have to think it over

difference here is that UG doesn't have the chance to blow up on yourself (I suppose it could get stolen... but...), AND it can kill creatures
the freeze heal thing is that, if you try to freeze it, it won't freeze, and instead cool down enough to be eaten...

I still say this costs wayy too much...

Well I tweaked it, I figure healing for 5 is better than 10 since the point of the card (and fire in general) is damage not healing.

Remember that you cannot activate an ability on the turn you play the card. If the number is 1, you burn youself!Pass being air seem a bit too obvious duo (Unstable gas being explosive and  :fire / :air). If it is the point, then fine. But if it's not, then I would suggest :entropy (for the randomness of the delay) or :darkness (for the not so straightforward fighting method).Overall, I like the idea a lot. It's original and fun.     I can see what you mean but having it do more realistic damage would bring it down to something more like 5 and 8 (upped) which I don't think is enough incentive to use the card I could lower the upped damage to something like 15. I could change it to a bomb (in fact I considered it when I made the card) but I was aiming to make something that mimicked the game hot potato and a potato is the literal sense of thatI was hoping that mechanic could be changed but I don't know if its too much of a pain if it is I can always tweak the number of turns until it burns you. The problem I'm having is I don't know exactly how the game keep tracks of turns or what it counts as a turn. Is a turn when both players go or just one? Any insight to this would be appreciated while it is similar to UG, fire and air fit the card too well to change it since it is hot :fire and passing it involves throwing it :air
