why not lords? avatars just doesn't seem cool enough.or some other name

i think the heros you proposed were all good, except for the joker, which doesn't really have a good ability, i mean it'd be killer vs. mono-duo, like 9 devs at once, but you couldn't really use the quantums unless you were rainbow (and you would ordinary fight rainbow) which seems to be the opposite of the point of these cards.
Again... do you see any humans in Elements?  Lords and heroes just don't fit.  Gods fit because it has to do with power.  Avatars fit the game style.  If avatars doesn't work for you how about Legendary Beings (Spirits or whatever... doesn't matter), Ethereals, Phenomenons,  Essences, Shades, Wraiths, Apparitions,  Eidolons, Phantoms, Phantasms, Sprites, Specters, Sprites, Archfiends, Seraphs, etc.  I don't really care as long as it fits the theme.  It has to have some aspect of supernatural in it and it can't be blatantly connected to humans.

Gods sound good, as in the description you ARE a god and use the cards to fight, why not be able to play yourself?

Most of the other names seem more death/darknessy.

I think gods is probably the best choice

I, personally, think Avatar fits better, but I think that might be because I love Avatars in MTG...>.<"

Skill, just wondering, have you read any of my balance suggestions?  A few of the power/life numbers you suggested make the heros vulnerable to paradox.  The primary pursoe of most of these is the ability, not damage.  As for the high life totals, a fire or dark deck could dispartch most of these extremely quickly through the use of fire lance or life siphons.  Assuming that the fire or dark produced mana at the same rate as any deck using one of the heros,  siphon or lance would only deal 6-9 damage when the first hero card came on the table.  The problem is that assumption is wrong.  Dark has access to devourers, a card that not only speeds up the dark decks production, but also slows down the opponents production.  Its not unreasonable to expect a dark deck to be pushing 40-50 quantums before the opponent plays their first hero card. As for fire, not only do lances deal more damage than spihons, cremation gives a massive amount of fire quanta, and fire has access to a creature card that also produces fire quanta.  Its not unreasonable to expect a good fire deck to be able to deal 21 damage with a lance by the time a light or air deck got their first hero out.  The defense on these creatures needs to be pretty substantial.

This brings up another point I hadn't thought of earlier.  These cards all cost 20 quanta.  In specific decks (FFQ, time, dark, fire, I'm looking at you), it would be possible to play a hero far earlier than in any other deck.  Costs would probably need to be adjusted for the Life, Dark, and Fire heros, and perhaps the Light or Time heros as well.

I also feel the need to reiterate that the aether hero should not have immortality.

Heroes SHOULD be able to die.  Your also not realizing how easy it is to get 20 quantams.  I can get that by turn 3.  So a hero out on turn 3... I'm pretty sure people won't be dealing 21 damage by turn 3 too.  Also, it's possible to immortal the hero, so it's not like they should be hard to kill.  While the ability is good the cards shouldn't make or break a game.  The fact that they CAN be killed by multiple decks makes them more fair.  A person who plays a lot can get a "hero," but that doesn't mean they should automatically become 3x better than they are.

Paradox... yes I noticed that.  How many people actually run paradox?  Not a lot of people use Entropy, so it's not like that's a huge deal.  Everyone seems to want to make the "Heroes" stronger, but they don't need to be.  They just need to be good.  You should have to worry about protecting them... not the opponent worrying about how they'll survive.

*Agrees with Skillgannon*

Kumlekar, the point is not for every hero card to be immediately resilient against all deck types. For some heroes to be susceptible to bolt/siphon and others to paradox means that the card set would be balanced. That is the very nature of the concept.

No, Just no.

If recent MtG ideas keep getting suggested I'm going to hurt someone. Go play that game if you like it's features.

Also thanks a lot. The Rocky card made me go play Demigod.

It's pretty hard to make new cards in an online flash CCG that has been out for less than 6 months without taking a page out of MtG's 15+ years of card mechanic innovation.

20 quantums by turn three? Of course you can, but twenty quantums by turn three in a deck without significant quantum production other than towers? Not so likely.  Also, keep in mind that you will be playing other cards in that time, increasing the length of time to play a hero further.  I guess my issue is how fast they die to specific cards.  I have no problems with the fact that they are easily counterable, but I guess I find anything that can kill them with just one cheap effect for under three mana to be kinda stupid.  Eh, I'll get off these forums and go back to playing GW.

First off... everyone's going to have towers if they have a "hero."  There would be a requirement to get a "hero" card and you'd have to expect that you'd have already started god farming by then.  Also, just because the cards cheap to kill one (a lot of them take MULTIPLE cards to kill them with my suggestions) doesn't mean you'll have it in your hand.  Also, if you have a hero in your start off hand you might hold back from playing anything until you can get him out fast.  Or you might play some creatures and hope they waste their spells on them.  See... strategy.
