Okay I gotta say something. These are called CONCEPTS, people. This is how cards are made. Yes, Scaredgirl may or may not be entirely serious as to these card ideas, but guess what? Scaredgirl posted them, and obviously they have made enough of an impact for this topic to be so hot. As for how overpowered these cards are and how they create that ever so lovely "auto-win" scenario?

All of these are creatures that can be targeted. Therefore:
1.) Lobotomize it.
2.) RT it.
3.) Mutate it via the card Mutation or Elf/Druid.
4.) Gravity Pull it.
5.) Freeze it.

Those are 5 solutions to each and every one of those creatures from 6 possible quanta sources, even if they were created as is.

How do you expect people to take you seriously if you admit yourself that you did a half-assed job?
Why even submit these as an idea when the idea is incomplete? If you were scared of someone posting the same idea before you... sorry, but you were already too late the moment you decided to steal oaky180s idea.

Also, you're defending these card ideas so vehemently... you don't need to insult Roketha just because he thinks the cards are overpowered.
And they ARE overpowered. It doesn't matter if they can be countered, because the odds of you having an exact counter for one of the 12 gods that could be played are rather slim. I can't even see how half of these can be countered without spamming spells on them. Sorry if that makes me new to the game :\

I think that this thread is yet another attempt by you to seek attention. You're arguing that these cards need to be balanced by zanz and aren't even expected to be taken as a final result. What makes this any different from the original heroes idea thread?
Nothing... except now YOU'RE in the spotlight.

Ah, look it's mister sensitive again. You really are a dumbass, you know that? Just like in that other thread, instead of trying to contribute to the discussion, you once again decided to attack me personally instead. Good job.

"Why even submit these as an idea when the idea is incomplete"?

I'm guessing you have never done any creative work in your entire life? This is how it works. We are BRAINSTORMING here. You get an idea, the idea keeps evolving, and in the end it either becomes something or not. Crushing ideas when they are in beta stage is not constructive, and when you do that, the person who had the idea is never going to post another idea again.

What you see as a "half-assed job", I see as something that I spent 2 hours of my life doing without getting paid a single cent. Making those cards wasn't as easy as it looks.

And I'm not seeking attention here. What makes this thread different from original Heroes thread is that I'm actually talking about a different thing here. I'm not talking about a card that you can level up, like in that other thread. I'm talking about Quests, a series of matches, where in the end you would face a boss. You can call that boss "Hero", "God", "Legend", whatever. This idea has been done before in other CCG's like MtG. With these kinds of Quests, you could even build a storyline inside a CCG which would be pretty cool I think.

Roketha, while doesn't fully seem to grasp the idea of brainstorming, at least gave his opinions and joined the discussion. I can respect that. You on the other hand, continue with the same crap you started on that other thread. Quite frankly I don't think you have a problem with this idea. I think you have a problem with me. This has more to do with your ego and jealousy, which is very sad considering we are on a gaming forum. If you saw me in real life you would understand why I don't need an ego boost here. I'm not what you would call an "average gamer".

But yeah, like I said, you are a dumbass.

One question I have is how many heroes can be added to a deck? I would think that changing the limit for these cards would make sense. Say you can only choose one hero total and only one copy of this hero.

How about they cost less?

HOLD ON!!! I haven't gone mad. HAHAHAHAFLIBBERHAHAHAH

If they cost less, were immortal (un-PU-able), dealt little/no damage, but still had their abilities, they may work. Or not.

Maybe they could have 6 HP so they are blocked by gravity shield.

I wouldn't make them immortal. Instead I would make them "unique", a term used in many CCG's, meaning that there could be only ONE of these guys on the table, so no PU's. This would also mean that if your opponent plays a Hero, you cannot play that same hero until the opponent Hero is dead.

I would also like to see them have some extra HP. If they had only 6, they would die in an instant. Just one Otyugh and they would be dead.

Having them do less damage is a VERY good idea. It was actually something I realized AFTER I have done the cards but didn't feel like doing all 9 of them all over again. If you have a Dragon and then you have this guy called "Joker" (basically a clown), of course the Dragon will do more damage!

I will redo all those cards with nerfed attack/defense after getting some more feedback.

I'm still missing 3 Heroes. Time for some brainstorming!

Aether - Immortal King - Immortal. Ability: Thunderbolt (5 damage to a single character)

Gravity - The Machine - Ability: Gives momentum to all you characters. Has 50 HP and starts with Gravity Pull on him.

Air - Wyrm Queen - Ability: Generate a Wyrm (bah.. a bit boring)

What you think? Any ideas?

Yep, like I said in my original post, "You can only have 1 Hero card in your deck".

Please do not argue
But next time, ask permission before using my idea. You even used my name, Heroes :P
I don't mind that you used it. My idea was more of well, an idea to be grown upon. Good job ScaredGirl, just ask next time :D
Get off your high horse buddy.  Hero's are a common idea in card based strategy games and in rpgs, this is both.  If you truly believe you thought of hero's for this game first, you are delusional. You might have posted first, but why does someone need permission to do anything someone else has already done? They don't.  I'm going to make 5 hero topics, without asking for permission, and you can't use rainbow decks unless you ask the first rainbow deck maker. I'm not asking, I'm telling.

I think "Planeswalker" might have gotten around the censors...  Oh wait magic.
First the cards are awesome,  and really the biggest issue with them is costs or numbers.  This game has plenty of overpowered effects already, Theres no reason any of these cards could completely throw off the game balance because of cards like lobatomizer and sundials.  Let me go through what I think about each one specifically.

Bazuul:  I love the effect.  Its like a fire shield but also targets creatures that do not attack.  I'd drop its attack to 9, and incread health to 20 though.  That kind of offense on a card with an effect that kills other creatures for no mana is a bit ridiculous.

Chosen One: The pick is pretty damn funny.  Some people actually believe that.  As for the card, reduce the defense to 15 or so, and let the hero gain from the +1/+1. I doubt many decks could neutralize that creature fast enough when its gaining from its own effect.

Clockmaker:  The card concept is good, but time is really powerful in controlling the enemy as is.  I could see this card becoming way too powerful.  Either the bubble should last two turns or the cost for the ability should be doubled.  You have to remember that time has lockdown effects that could potentially prevent the opponent from ever countering this card.  Its almost balanced alone, but the combinations are too crazy.

Demon from the Depts:  I'd make the ability more powerful.  Maybe something like, "Three target creatures are frozen for four turns"  I just really don't like randomization in stragety games.

The Joker:  Looks fun. Probably a lower attack and higher defense though.

Rocky: Add a line: All enemy burrowed creatures take 2 damage.  This is another canidate for lower attack higher defense.

Tree of life: Excellent card

Vampire lord: Fun concept, i really don't know about balance,  darkness procuces alot of mana, but the effect is not quite as over-powered as some of the other heros.

Zombie King: Wow thats nasty.

Time Machine: Make sure theres no way to remove the gravity pull and the card will be fine.

Wyrm Queen: Seems kinda... boring, not sure what to say.  In magic the usual thing to do would be give all air cratures flying with a card like that.  maybe momentum in addition to the current effect.?

Immortal king: I'd like to see a more interesting effect, but really don't have any ideas.

Over all I love the cards!

EDIT: One more thing.  Perhaps they should be unable to gain certian effects, especially immortality (if they don't have it already).  Bascially they could be targeted, but only by direct damage or direct buffing stuff, or their own effects.

Except that Scared's idea displayed here does have significant differences from the one posted in the other thread.  Much more emphasis has been place in that thread on having a card that upgrades starting out relativley weak and slowly becoming completely over powered.  Multiple posts in that thread assume that the cards being talked about would be designed for fighting gods or similar end game opponents with decks other than rainbow.  Scared's idea strongly modifies that design into a pvp compatible format, and contributes significant new suggestions, infacte more than was ever produced in that thread in total.  Lastly, the orginal poster on that thread has already given his opinion on this one, invalidating your need to continue fighting for his cause.  I personally find posts like yours discouraging and would much rather see multiple similar ideas than fewer ideas total, and makes me very gald you are not one of the people producing this game.

Hey Scared, I think instead of making the heroes have alot of damage, reduce the damage, and make their special effects better, so they are not really over powered, but act as a morale booster. Like a hero would do in real life, they would also increase the bravery of their fighters. Like a war cry  :o
