NOTES:
So, the card. It's  :aether as that is the opposite of  :time in EtG. The card acts similarly to Sundial or Dim shield, after 2|3 turns it disappears. In that time RT (or Eternity), Precognition and Hasten (Sundial, Hourglass) or similar card drawing effects (SoB) are negated. They consume quanta (and card where applies) but do nothing - just like using SoB when opponent's hand is full.

Why would these effects "break the linearity of Time"? Card drawing takes the card from the future (you'd draw that card only later), while RT brings back the past (when the card was still in your deck).

Overall, it is a hard counter for :time in general, Lionheart in particular, that's quite usable in both PvE and PvP.

Why you gotta be h8in on :time ? lol.
Seriously though, cards that specifically seek to cripple a specific element's core thematics are usually not so well received... This doesn't affect only time since SoBr is also affected, but it is awefully situational (which is why such card mechanics aren't typically a good idea).

Anti-element cards work out better in games like MtG where the number of elements / colors etc. are relatively few. Its mainly comes down to an odds game. In EtG, we have 12 elements, so if you pack cards that target only a single element, then your odds of those cards being useful is 1 in 12. On the other hand, in MtG your odds would be 1 in 5. Thats more than a 2 fold improvement.

Right now, card drawing, rewind, etc. are pretty much purely :time mechanics so the above argument holds.

If the affected mechanics were used / exhibited more broadly then this card would be useful. Right now, I think its just too situational.

I think one alternate route to go is to have something that triggers each time your opponent draws a card beyond the first. At the very least, it would be broadly applicable against false gods.
Moreover, given the v1.4 overhaul, there may well be a plethora of new, high 'dexterity' opponents to fight. Such a card would then be quite useful. At least in PvE anyway.

Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?

Actually I agree that it's too niche to be useful this way. I was mostly interested in reactions outside of the challenge.

What if there were such hard counter cards for all twelve elements? How would that change for instance War?

This tends to create a 'rock paper scissor' style of meta. If done well it might be interesting, but I think its better to avoid single card hard counters. They tend to lead to strategies and archetypes that are too rigid.
Honestly, I think, at this point, if a card is going in it should be useful outside of a single specific PvP meta like war. I.e. it should be useful for general PvP / PvE purposes.

Like I mentioned, however, if we take the potential v1.4 changes into account, there may be some room for element specific interactions.
This is because the PvE meta will become populated with a wider range of decks, which the players will have the ability to hunt specifically (i.e. the map seems to have regions populated by decks of specific elements)...
So maybe element specific effects might see more use / demand in the future.

I still think hard counters like this one tend to be a little heavy handed though.

I consider this particular card abandoned, will most likely make a series about similar but not quite so hard counters for each element
