i guess thats one way to grow several super otys/scarabs with one card, but the player max hp part may be nipping at SoDs heels a bit, though- i know has a connection to max hp already, but with a shard already doing max hp and only max hp, the overlap is highlighted a bit.
It is, but on the flipside this card is not limited by a quantum cap and is more of a "suprise" vs. decks that deal a lot of damage - it can also be used vs OTK decks to force them to "hesistate" on the kill. SoD on the other hand is more general Heal purpose and much less enemy-reliant.
Also, note that the core mechanic of the shard is buffing creatures or taking advantage of swarms, not simply increasing max HP to 'heal' the player. (
is technically a loyalty bonus. Shards should be thematically and mechanically justifiable even without said 'bonus'. )
