Original idea came from my "Raven" idea, in the original form of Dark Poet | Cursed Poet. It's similar to a Phoenix. However, in order for it to be reborn, you have to trigger its active ability before it dies. Then, once it dies, it is immediately reborn, and gains +1|+1. Kill it, and becomes stronger. The summoning sickness is what makes this balanced.

This looks fun. If someone could manage to make a duo/trio deck involving this and immolation , it would be sheer evil as Pests drain your opponent's quanta, your Crimson Dragons/Phoenixes go wild, and these get semi-quintessence. 

Pseudo-immortality is a strong ability, but the high cost and low HP make up for that.

just a heads up there's already currently a Haunt card in level 1 :death .  It's not related to this card in effect, just in name.

I don't think this is understood. If I had said, "Target creature is immediately reborn once killed..." then I would've meant that. But I said, "This creature is immediately reborn once killed..." so I meant what I said. If I wanted to say target creature, I would've. This effect is for Phantom, and Phantom alone.

ok, thanks for clarifying, makes the card like a slow painfull growth that needs 1 death and cc every time to grow, and can only grow once per turn due to summoning sickness. you might be able to afford +2|+2 on this card only because of what it will take to constantly kill it

Lobotomizer cannot get rid of the status where it can be reborn. It can, however, lobotomize the active skill away so it can't use it.

Now, to clear things up on its ability as such. Suppose that when it is summoned, you activate the ability and play a Plate Armor on it (for whatever reason), and it becomes a 3|4. The opponent plays a lightning bolt, killing it. It revives as a 4|2, because that is +1|+1 to its normal stats. Now, you use the ability again, and the opponent kills it once more. It becomes a 5|3. It does not add +1|+1 to the stats just before death, because its health can be reduced at any time. It adds +1|+1 to its original stats, and then stacks. Almost like hidden counters, ticking away at the exact power of this creature.

Maybe +2|+2 works, but remember that its growth relies on its own death effects. Since it already has synergy with :death, this strengthens the bond.
