lol as much as I'd love to accept the kudos, don't sell yourself (or any of the other card creators) short. There are tonnes of great ideas that float through here, some good, some bad. If you think you have a new idea for a mechanic or a creature, give it a go. Nobody here is going to call you an idiot or a moron because your card doesn't work out...and if anyone does, there are more than a few other members who have your back. The CIA (Card Ideas & Art) threads are here specifically for balancing and tuning ideas. Even if you get negative criticism, it's nothing at all to toss your idea into the scrapheap until you feel ready to tackle it again.
As for Hydra, I think you'll be delightfully surprised if you check out Zblader's card Hydra | Hydra Head (
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,17937.msg244153#msg244153). Great play on the Hydra mechanic, and I'm proud to say I'm jealous he came up with the idea first. Did a great job with it. On that note, remember that no card idea is ever "spoken for." So what if you come up with a card that shares the same name as someone else's? As long as the card is unique and fits thematically, it's not a problem.
Finally, I do love my accolades. But I have more than a fair share of loser cards. For instance, if I saw it in crucible, I'd probably vote for the Manticore, but I'm not too keen on Gryphon, even though it's my card. I think it tries too hard. I personally wouldn't vote for it, but hey! to each their own. Essentially, don't vote me up just because you see my name on the card. Vote for the cards
you personally believe should make it into the game.
