IMHO it's no good idea to have a "growth" with a negative expected value (unupgraded card). I'd suggest to make the unupgraded card with equal odds and an expected value of zero, while the upgraded card should have a positive expected value (~growth over time).

I mean, it's guaranteed, that the current unupgraded creature will die (the sooner or later) which makes it very weak.

Er...what exactly are you talking about? This doesn't change the creature's HP at all.

Yet another idea that pushed Entropy into a pure luck-based element. I'd very much like to see someone do something to entropy that wouldn't have a random effect (like the Cat.) but instead a fixed one, that may be related to what Entropy is in Quantum Physics (again, the Cat).

There's not many cards with random effects in other elements, and it seems to fit entropy the best. If you're talking about broadening entropy beyond "disorder" and Shannon entropy, I can only think of thermodynamic entropy. Of course it's too similar to darkness, so it wouldn't work very well. Quantum physics is almost entirely focused upon probability as well.
