I simply loved the idea of a card being able to upgrade or downgrade something during the game. It may be a little bit OP sometimes, perhaps instead of a creature with an ability it could be a one time spell with the same Upgrade/Downgrade modality.
I believe the downgrade ability can be extremely useful in many ocations.

actually i think you shouldn't use human as art (i'm ok with human but someone doesn't like it 'cause it's element game so no human are involved in the theme or some stuff like this.. i read something like this somewhere on other cards ideas in this forum section), so maybe it's better to change the art
however the cards ideas is truly interesting

actually i don't think there is an upgrade for malignant cell.. so.. yes.. it would be interesting to try 
however.. i think the effect would be the same trying to upgrade ad unpgraded card.

well.. if it's upgraded i think it will turn into a basic and useless one, if t's basic (or basic permanent) i think it will happen the same as upgrading an upgraded thing.. so maybe it will be impossible
