hmmm... If this is meant purely as a counter to sacrifice tactics, I think you may need to drop attack to -2. Otherwise, it wil backfire if eclipse is in play.

Also, SoPa could be heavily abused. Particularly given the stacking... It would take a trio, but:
This + cat + SoPa... You would end up being able to outpace a malignant cell's growth rate I think.
The SoPa would then quickly grow the total damage output... Not sure how it compares with Patient Sparktal, but could give it a run for its money.

Abuse potential of the implementation aside, I do like the sacrifice effect counter idea.

The idea is to make it something to be built around.  Several decks are based around killing or sacrificing their own creatures [Cats, Immo, etc.], and this would help counter it.

A not-too-strong counter (minus a couple attack doesn't do too much to a fire rush) for a few specific combos doesn't really seem like Darkness's theme at all. This card just doesn't seem too useful.

I can think of some uses for it.

Kitty + SoPa, and Kitty + Druid both come to mind.

Actually, it would also make good Oty chow. Play 2 and you have an unending feast.

The irony is, most of the uses I can think for this actually make the intended sacrifice deterrent mechanic into a benefit.
